Chick peas are added to hundreds of delicious recipes. Since chickpeas (also known as garbanzo beans) are very nutritious and rich in minerals and vitamins, these recipes are very healthy. Vegetarian Chickpea recipe
The main ingredients for this recipe are dry chickpeas or preferably the canned ones (Much easier to work with) olive oil, chopped onions, two cloves of garlic, cauliflower, sea salt, cinnamon, allspice, cumin and some lime. To start, If you are using the dried version, you will have to boil the chickpeas and leave them in a bowl of water for a night before you start your next step.
When using the the dried chickpeas they must be soaked in water completely for more than 6 hours. When you soak them, chick peas will double in size and will become softer. After at least 6 hours, boil the soaked chickpeas in a lot of water for 2-3 hours until they are tender and soft. (Like I said before the canned ones are so much easier to work with) Next step would be to mix some chopped onion and the olive oil in a large pan with a nominally heated temperature. Cook this mixture until it softens up.
Now add cauliflower into the pan and stir until it shows a shiny effect. Add chickpeas to the pan mixture. You can also add salt, the rest of the spices and lime juice over the pan for better results. Cook this mixture for around 15 minutes. Serve with rice or quinoa to experience a distinctive taste.
Roasted Chickpeas recipe
This is another great chickpea recipe which is used by millions of people in different parts of the world. For this you will need canned chickpeas which are easily available in the market. Other main ingredients that you will need include olive oil, salt, garlic salt and cayenne pepper.
To start your cooking procedure you will have to adjust your oven settings to 450 degrees F. Now dry off the chickpeas using a paper towel or any other similar item to make them ready for cooking. Next step is to take a large bowl and add in it the chickpeas and around 1 to 2 teaspoons of olive oil. Stir up gently to mix them well. Now add salt according to taste, the garlic salt and the cayenne pepper to create a mixture. Mix all of these items gently and cook up to 10-15 minutes until you see a golden and wet appearance. Serve this dish as an appetizer, or a side meal.
