Among the many health benefits of an apple, bone protection is among the top three for the human body. Researchers have found that phloridzin, which is a flavanoid, and boron are found in apples and are very helpful in making bones strong. These ingredients help protect post-menopausal women from osteoporosis. Apples may also help precent different kinds of cancers including lung, breast, colon and liver cancers. Apples may also be beneficial for patients suffering from diabetes as apples contains galacturonic acid that reduces the body’s requirement of insulin.

Apples may also be useful in preventing cardiovascular diseases as they are rich in flavanoids. Apples are a good choice to include in a diet plan for a person struggling with weight loss as apples are rich in dietary fiber. Apples contain both kinds of dietary fibers called soluble and insoluble fibers. Soluble fibers get absorbed in human body in a gel like form that is able to suck cholesterol from the body and finally remove it. Second is the insoluble fiber that attracts water and helps the intestine to clean and encourage bowel movements in a normal way. The soluble fiber is in the pulp of an apple and insoluble fiber is in the skin. Therefore an apple should be eaten whole with its skin.

Along with the many health benefits of an apple, the most important thing is an apple has a great taste. Eat apples in its raw form, drink its juice or use it in lots of different recipes to savor its great taste while also partaking of  its manyhealth benefits.
